Washing Machine Costing Me £££'s In Electric Bills!

Hi

Dont know if this is the correct place to post this thread?

Thought this may interest someone

I posted a while back about my electric useage as it seemed very high and was paying around £55 a month by DD. There is only 2 adults and one child but do have alot of electric items and washing machine is on loads due to my disability  When other people posted, I was told our electric items were quite the norm these days but our electric costs were so high.

Anyway, we have had problems with our washing machine for months. 1600 spin etc, but clothes were coming out quite wet so was having to spin again (extra costs) and the quick wash was going on for 1hr 20 mins  We called an engineer out as the wm was still under cover till 2007, only to find out that the quick was should last max of 35 mins and clothes should come out basically dry with a 1600 spin :o The chap sorted it all out yesterday and I have done 5 loads so far and he was right. 30 mins on quick wash and took less than an hour to dry on the line it was that dry  Explained about the high electric costs and he was certain that it would of been this problem with the WM.

We will keep an eye on it and have taken meter readings today and will check it this time next week. Maybe this could be happening to some of you guys and why your electric costs are higher than the norm.

Thought it may help someone anyway. Have a nice day.
