I'm no expert on car insurance but I always thought car insurance was for social, domestic and pleasure purposes unless you paid extra to use it for business purposes.
Just spoken to customer service as I wanted to check I am covered to attend college for example or to attend an off-site seminar this afternoon.
I was told business use is already included on my policy which surprised me. Can't check my certificate as it's at home.
Also just tried to get a quote on their website and realised it doesn't actually ask you for which purposes you need insurance.
Can anybody confirm that prudential includes business use as standard please?

Several companies are including it as standard on new business quotes online (as I understand some are not charging for this-even when its done over the phone its cost is minimal).
Its part of a tester scheme - for a lot of companies over 65% of all new business is done online - milegage is a rating factor and as longas the other assumptions are met then it has no real change in the risk.
What it does stop is people having to call the call centres - get the staff to pull it from the internet set it up and get paid for it.
the money they are saving buy not paying the staff - they are losing by not charging for the business use (it not usually more than £6-7) so it balances the books and gives the call centre staff more time to deal with other customers.0 -
On the certificate it says any use in connection with the motor trade is excluded.0
