  • Brilliant on the weight loss front Jamie! It'll be a huge boost not to have to pay (I hate paying to have someone stick me on the scales LOL!).

Debt free by Feb 09 is amazing! That is something to look forward to over Christmas.

I must make a note to watch River Cottage Autumn next week.

What orders are you packing up? Ebay or do you have a home business?

    morning wendy:)

i have a home business which i run primarily through ebay. business has its ups and downs through the year although this is usually my busiest time (oct-dec).

i am really looking forward to being debt free again. I was debt free this time last year and then a whole catalogue of events put me back in debt again (see start of thread) it will have taken me a whole year to get back on track.....i do not want to be in the tenuous position again, which is why im trying to save a little bit too. If i can reach june 09 without any major disasters striking, i know thats it for me and i wont be in debt ever again. By june i should have saved enough in the emergency fund to cover most eventualities!

how are things going for you? x

  • Going well for me thanks. I am on here because I want to be financially secure as I never used to be in the past when I was married. I have spent the past six years building up a good credit history in my own name and now have a £3000 limit on my Lloyds card (at £0) and a £2500 limit on my Egg Money which I use for monthly spend and pay off in full - as recommended by Martin. I came on here to save money in the height of the credit crunch and its brilliant. I cashed in my ISA to pay off my Lloyds CC - Martins idea LOL. Now my bank balance is healthy-ish and my only debt is for my lovely little car (I finally got a licence this year). But I guess that is not being "in debt" is it? More of an on going monthly expense which once paid off, I will likely be ready to buy another one!

I dread being in debt as I was in the past (my ex husband would spend and spend and then moan at me for the bank balance).

Have changed our family meals - bought the crock pot to save money, improve our diet and all eat one meal together instead of "cafe kitchen syndrome". I'm really pleased with the new regime but after three really nice home cooked meals eaten together, my OH has not once said thanks or that was nice. He just eats it and goes upstairs. If he were to cook he expects a ton of thanks and compliments. I wonder what that is all about ......

Sorry, I feel like I've gatecrashed your thread now!

Not at all!!! its nice knowing about people:) Or maybe im just nosey lol

well done you for being so sensible!!

Afraid i cant comment on the OH thing lol, dont have one, dont want one:D I love being single (hard work yes with 4 kids) but i prefer it that way. I got fed up with horrid and nasty spendthrift partners who didnt give a monkeys what the future held, I dated for a while but ive got bored with even that now lol.

I have many plans for the future and im glad to say none of them include a man:D

You are doing these things to make life better for yourself (especially important in these hard times) that is really comendable hun xxxx

Spent most of yesterday in bed as I was feeling really ill. I think I have been overdoing things a little lately and my body finally said 'rest!' the glands in my throat were up and it felt like I was swallowing razor blades, headachy, and felt sick:( Had a really early night last night and feel a lot better today.

Made my payment a day to creditcard on friday for fri/sat/sun so just my payments to the pot:

    £1.37 sat
    £1.64 today

Cancelled my night out with friends as I was ill so a NSD for me! Will update signature to reflect this.

All my plans for a saturday cookathon went out the window, so I will be doing this today:) The extra clubcard points (750) I got for my online grocery shop on wednesday have now been credited to my account, so am showing a healthy 1300 points so far this quarter....only 2700 points to go to reach this quarters target!! Need to look around for a code for decembers grocery order:) Will be filling up with petrol next week to use up the 5p petrol voucher I got :)

Off to catch up on everything I missed yesterday!:)

  • Jamie, sorry you have been unwell. Thanks for the pitta recipe, I will definatly try that however I have been ordered to make pizza base in my bread maker today  anyone would think it was hard. So next time mum goes shopping I will ask for some pitta :)

I was going to ask, this may upset you in the way I word things but I am no good :rotfl: Sorry ~ you know your candles and things, I know they are 'magical'. But can you just use them for decoration? I dont want to light a few that I think are for decoration and do some spell or upset anyone from the other side :rotfl:
  • Hi Jamie! I've logged on to say "where is Jamie?" and here you are. I thought you might not be well because you always do your diary. Glad you're feeling better. I know how hard it is to be ill when you have kids (I have 3) and you need to just keel over and crawl into bed but they are still needing stuff. It's tough so hug to you and I hope the rest has done you good. Looking forward to hearing how your Sunday goes.

I'm off to BB parade for Remembrance Day - my DS is bugling. Then going for a carvery - my Mum's treat for us all so it will be a very enjoyable NSD!

Cat - Thanks for the hug:) Hope you enjoy your parade and your carvery YUM!!:D

Been busy in the kitchen this morning! Made a lasagne and a chilli, a huge pot of mushroom soup and raspberry muffins so far! Im really looking forward to the soup for lunch:D

Have finally caught up with all the washing! Its all washed and hung up everywhere to dry:D I have some on the line, its looking a bit dodgy out there so that may have to come inside yet.

I dont want to do too much today and feel rubbish again tomorrow, so im going to chill out for a while now and leave ironing and work for this evening.

    Catch up later x
