  • hi you need to get a benefit welfare adviser , to check to see if you are entitled to dla etc if you. and they will also fill in forms as the know how to word these forms as they are very complicated . or go to your local cab ,, good luck .

  • Hi - Your local council may be able to put you in touch with an orgainisation called DIAL, they can help you with the paperwork too. Also the housing dept at your local council may be able to help you with grants etc for any housing issues - ie if you need a shower, or things around the home. The nurse at your doctors surgery can also help with some small things - bathboards etc.
Arthritis care has lots of info re welfare rights etc and a free helpline.
    best wishes

  • Hi!

FMS is quite a difficult illness to get DLA for as it effects people differently. Do you have a supportive rhumy and GP as supporting letters from them both may help? DLA is not given on a diagnosis but on how your illness effects you personally. Do you receive any help from Social Services? On the new DLA forms they ask for a lot more info now and they will generally get in contact with your GP, consultants etc.

You would only recieve Carers Allowance if you were looking after someone else for 35hrs pw.
