Plasterers

We've been trying to find a plasterer to make good the walls of our 4 bed following a complete rewire. Of the two who have quoted so far we've had:

£300 - two men believe they'd be able to do the work in one day (this is an estimate so if it took longer it would be £300 a day)
£750 - one man saying at least 4 days and he'd bring someone else in to help

Although they all seemed to talk as if they knew what they were talking about at the time we're not happy with either of these so are trying to get more quotes.
Does the first one sound realistic in that could chases really be filled in and skimmed in one day? doesn't the plaster/filler need some time to dry out before being skimmed?

£300 sounds too cheap to me.....Im not a plasterer, but in the building trade, and you would be hard pushed to do all that in one day...I'd steer clear of that one if I was you, especially as its only an estimate!!!! Have you got any friends who know anybody in the building industry who could be recommended??

Lemon, Im having my whole downstairs done next week (its all knocked thru into one though), roughly 7m x 4m, plus ceiling, the rooms a 'C' shape. Its costing me £600 and one man will be there for 3 days. He was recommended by a good friend who says his finish is as smooth as a window pane
Im in Essex/Herts if you want a number PM me

In the end we got two more quotes, one at £450 and another at £550 (but that included reskimming a water damaged ceiling). We went with the £550 one and it's taken one man 4+ days to do.
