I have recently taken out a 24 month contract (at £10 per month) with Three.
Before taking out this contract, I asked online (in a text-based chat) whether or not a particular postcode had coverage. This was because I would mostly be using it at my work address.
I was promised the following:
- That I would have a 384KBits connection at the given postcode.
- That I would receive a £10.00 accessories voucher with my order.
- That the £1.95 charge they take for a credit check be refunded.
None of the above have happened. Now they are refusing my cancellation request as I have used the modem for more than 3 consecutive days (note - less than 2 hours total usage).
After 9 days (Today is day 10) I telephoned to explain the situation, where a CS rep said to try it one more day, but assured me that provided I cancel within the initial 14 days it would be accepted. I tried it the following day, nothing. Phoned immediately to be confronted with another CS rep suggesting that I am lying about the above promised coverage and for me to fax in a copy of the above transcript. It wasn't without requesting to speak with a supervisor that I was provided with a correspondence address to send this information.
I am a very careful person and note down ALL communications with ALL companies, and record it where possible. I am now sending them a copy of the requested transcript recorded delivery.
My suggestion is: Please avoid this company. To contact them about any problems, you are initially directed to India, who deal primarily with mobile phone contracts. I have been passed from pillar to post to get where I am now, and I feel it has cost me an arm and a leg phoning 0870 numbers.
