Rover 75 clutch - help!
Hi
I wondered if anyone could help me out with some advice please?
I have a rover 75 with 100,000 miles on the clock. Last week, my clutch started sticking to the floor - it would come back up again but would then stick and stall every time I changed gear.
We took it to our usual mechanic who replaced the master clutch - this worked fine for two miles and then went again.
My husband spoke to someone at a clutch specialist yesterday who said he wouldn't touch it with a bargepole - basically he has repaired loads of 75 clutches costing at least £500 then the fault has happened again within a month.
Please can anyone help us out with any advice??

Master clutch? Do they mean slave cylinder?Genie

sorry I meant master cylinder0

The slave cylinder is inside the gearbox and is therefore quite a big job to replace, with the gearbox out it makes sense to replace the friction lining, (clutch plate) and all the other bits too as it should only cost you for the parts. £500 is a good price cost me nearer £800 2 years ago, mostly paid for by the warranty.
