Sheesh ! What's a woman got to do to report a fault on her phone line  !
I've been trying since 1pm this afternoon to report a fault (I have internet but no phone). I logged a report online and was told that they were looking into it and someone would be in touch shortly. I left my mobile number as a contact number (as you do). Nothing by 3pm. So, hubby rings up and on 3 occasions he asked for a call back (within 45 minutes) ..... nothing by 6pm. So, I ring up and it takes me 15 minutes (YES 15 MINUTES !!!!) to go through all their automated system, pressing this bloody number and that bloody number and all the time, they're telling me in a lovely robotic voice "did I know that i could report a fault online" !! By this time, hubby is in histerics as i'm going redder and redder and pacing faster and faster, talking to some stupid robot and getting nowhere. Then, after all that, I have to wait another 15 minutes to be put through to someone !
What a STUPID system - i've never encountered anything like it ! I've never had any trouble with BT before so never had to encounter this absurd way of trying to speak to someone to report a fault !
Anyway, rant over, sorry to have gone on so long, but I feel much better now !

If you have Internet but no phone have you tried disconnecting your Internet modem and seeing if that helps?
It might be a problem with the ADSL microfilter?Says James, in my opinion, there's nothing in this world

Yes magyar, I plugged the phone straight into the phone socket and it still didn't work.
I got up this morning, no dial tone. Then at 10.30 this morning, I had one, and then it went off again. I made a call on the phone so I know it's not the phone at fault. Once I did EVENTUALLY get through to someone, she did say that they were investigating and the 'job' was due to be completed by the end of the day tomorrow (whatever that means). Just seems very weird to me that I have full internet (it was intermittent this morning but seems to be pretty stable now). I dare not unplug anything internet-wise, in case that goes off too

I have a similar problem of not being able to get thro to a human, or they sent back my email without doing anything. I need to get to Broadband Billing as they've already agreed a refund (due to their !!!! up) but haven't applied it yet (which should have covered the phone bill due now). Luckily I canx the DD just in case. But they've even used an automatic phone call to chase up my non - payment. If a HUMAN had called it could all have been resolved already, as it should have been in December.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0
