i have always done the banking for the pair of us and i have done some internet banking for a couple of years ( hubby not bothered one bit and prefers me to sort it all out)anyway my question is this:- we have changed our ISA's over to internet banking, i have done mine ok but when i tried to add his details/ISA account number etc onto our joint thing= it said i couldnt do it?so then i went on a separate screen and decided to do his by a different customer ID that they have given him but when i tried to it said you have already registered for internet banking!! but he hasnt, how do i add it to our joint internet account before my computer gets totally confused, we dont want to have separate ID's really and would prefer to have just one customer ID to make it easy and then we could top them up from our joint account more easilyis there a simple answer??

I dont really know about A&L but most banking systems require each person (of a joint account) to have their own log on id.
One result of this is the each person only sees the joint account plus their own (sole) a/cs and not their OH's sole a/cs as required by the data protection act.
I'm sure if it were otherwise, there would be millions of outraged customers who dont necessarily want their OHs to know all their business.0 -
No.
Your internet banking ID relates to you alone. You can control joint named accounts, and individually named accounts in your own name.
You can't control your OH's individually named accounts because they are nothing to do with you.
You have to get him to log onto internet banking, and he will then be able to view his ISA along with your joint current account.
If he doesn't believe he's registered for internet banking (i.e. he's lost/forgotten/never read his details) he needs to phone up the internet banking helpline and ask them to reissue his internet banking details to him. The phone number is 0844 800 11 44.
Once you've sorted out his internet banking, there's nothing to stop you using Egg Money Manager to manage both of your A&L Internet Banking IDs - that's how I do it for me and my OH. Then you can long on once (to Egg Money Manager) and see all the accounts you both have with A&L - by adding A&L to Egg Money Manager twice, once with each of your log-on details.0 -
