Just received a phone call telling me I have won a fab prize worth £300.00 which included hair and make up for two people, free wine and a photoshoot from a company called studio64.
Sounded wonderful until she casually slipped into the conversation that they want a "deposit" of £59.99, what competition prize wants a deposit??? she then advised we would have to buy any photos we wanted to keep.
I am sure it is a money making exercise so I made my excuses and hung up.
If you receive this call obviously you will not get this "prize" for free.

As you've guessed, you haven't won a prize (when did you enter this competition?). They're trying to sell you something."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

Wasn't there a programme about this on the TV recently?0

Thing is I don't actually remember entering this competition, when I said that to her she giggled and said "maybe you entered a while ago and forgot". Umm no, I don't tend to enter competitions really online, more worrying is how she got my phone number!
Complete scam artists!

I think there was a similar post on here ages ago about something similar.
They might be legit with regards the "makeover" and they might actually exist? I'd be wary, as others have said about parting with £59, but possibly after the "makeover" photos will be taken and somewhere along the way you've agreed to this, you'll then be presented with an enormous bill for the pictures which you "agreed" to have taken and buy.
However, the safest thing is to, tempting as it might be, is to leave well alone.0 -
I have just "bumped" another thread about studio64 on this board re the deposit by stevedh.0

Boyfriend and I were ripped off, they really sell it to you, make you feel special. Do have 6 photos for £200 plus the deposit etc. Bad customer service, the white wine they serve you is Lambrini. I only realised when we'd left that we'd been conned, you really feel stupid for wasting £300 on 6 photos.0

I got a phone call about these scam merchants. You can end up spending thousands with them.
I told them I wasn't interested as having a photo taken stole part of your soul, and the more photos were taken the worse things got - look at all those celebrity marriage disasters and dreadful emotional things that happen to actors who have their photo taken all the time.
They hung up.Always another chapter0 -
My best friend and i got caught with this....although they didn't ask for a deposit when we went...we did end up parting with close to £500 between us tho.0
