in Credit cards
hi there, new to board, just like to ask anyone for help ,
what it is i have £1000 on a credit card which i now pay interest, which i would like to pay off, also i have been giving a £1000 as a bonus,
the thing is i have booked a holiday which i do not have to pay until may,i will be paying it with a credit card (as it is through the Internet),should i pay the credit card with the bonus money, and them use this card to pay for holiday, i do not have more money to pay for anything else , will have to get a loan or pay with a other credit card, which i hope to pay in a year.
or get a new card with 0% interest to pay for this, any help with what i can do to make the payments less

Hi - so you have a CC with a balance of £1k on it, and £1k in bonus to spare, and £1k you want to spend? What is the APR on your existing CC for purchases? Is your credit rating OK?
I suggest that you pay the £1k off your CC, and then apply (if credit rating is OK) for a 0% purchases card to pay for your holiday. If you don't get one, put it on your existing CC, but pay it off as soon as you can to avoid interest charges....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
thank you for your reply, my APR is 9.93% pa..
my credit rating is good,
what is the best card to get for 0% purchase, as i am not going to balance transfer, is there some card better than others so i do not have to pay interest for an year on purchases0 -
Have a look at the cc section of Martin's site above - there is a flowchart that can help you work it out.
Don't forget even with 0% on purchases, you will still need to make the minimum payment every month....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0
