Steph you gave me an idea
I've just quickly knocked up a craft ideas thread so that we have a one stop shop for links to some of the brilliant ideas on here
If anyone spots any that aren't included, pm me and I'll pop them in
Great idea thanks Savvy, sometimes it can take ages to find ideas when they are spread all over the forum, a dedicated thread will be fantastic.
Love some of the ideas ladies, especially the hampers and the jewellery making.
The thing I find so hard is trying to make things cheaply. I have a bad habit of ending up spending more than I would have by just buying a ready made present :undecided .
Thanks alot everyone. xxx0 -

Steph / rose_sparky - I think with the idea of keeping costs down is to look at what you already have in the house, and whenever you get anything think to yourself what could you turn it intoOH got given a basket of flowers as a thank you from his boss at Christmas, absolutely everything has been recycled, apart from the oasis which will come in handy anyway
Another way is to ask friends for stuff, (I've asked students to save all their Starburst wrappers for me for something I'm making) you never know someone could be looking to get rid of the very thing you want
Mary - I reckon you could still give her that survival kit, just 're-brand' it as '1st year survival kit'! :rotfl:
Millie - I wanna know!!! :j:j It's something I'm considering on embarking upon but mainly using recycled materialsCan you start a thread on the basics perhaps??

I am currently really skint so I have gone for some recycling as well as buying some inexpensive sweets to make some presents for my parents.
I had some Dowe Egberts coffee jars hanging about so I cleaned them and got all the sticky off them and they make good storage jars. I went to the local sweetshop that sells traditional sweets and bought a mix of fudge and liquorice allsorts for my Dad and some flying saucers for my mum. The jars look fab and certainly a lot more expensive than they were:D
Hope this idea is useful?0
