Are you wanting to burn them as video or data? You'll need to find some sort of video converter as without converting it into mpeg I can't think how you'd reduce the size of the file. Unless you could burn it as a virtual disc and then use dvd shrink? I don't know if that'd be possible though.0

If you just want to copy them to DVD as data use something like Nero Burning Rom.It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die0 -

I've never had any HD stuff on my computer before so no idea of the size but I might have thought it'd be larger than a standard 4.7 gig DVD? Unless you have a dual layer dvd burner.0 -
Depends how long the movies are I suppose and what compression has been used when recording them. It's my problem, it's my problem

Most 720p movies will be DVD5 size so just burn the .mkv as a data disc. A handleful of 720p movies will be past 4.37 GB so you will need a DVD9 to back it up.0

Maybe you should think about splitting the file into smaller pieces using a program like winzip. This way you won't have to worry about nero express and udf?
It is a bit of a fudge but at least it is you who gets to control what happens to your files as they are burnt.0 -
UDF's fine. Choose that. It's just a different filesystem that can handle files over 2GB, in the same way that NTFS can handle over 4GB unlike FAT32.
Probably a good idea to edit out that filename though. They say it's genetic, they say he can't help it, they say you can catch it - but sometimes you're born with it0
