I would be inclined to do it yourself.

I soon got tired of the cost of plastic push fit, so even though it may be easier and would be out of sight, I would still use compression fittings at minimum. Half the price, almost as easy. Pipe cutting is easier with copper, and pipe benders etc. are very cheap from ScrewFix.

If you later decide you cannot complete the job yourself, it is relatively easy to cap the joint (if using a tee, or join two pipes if in serial) and turn the heating back on. That way you can avoid the cost of a call out for a plumber and get them to finish the job.

We plumbed our own bathroom using pre soldered joints and a hot air gun.We did take up the floor boards and fit it all in properly .The plumber then did the last bit of joining our plumbing to the rest of the house. He didnt find any leaks so we must have been doing it right.

well, i did it, nice neat job, even found a pipe bending tool in garage.
which came in handy for the copper pipe attachements to the radiator and plastic piping.

biggest problem was getting the system to drain down........ took all day, but got there in the end and tested the heating ok.... well pleased with myself.........
smile --- it makes people wonder what you are up to.... ;)
