Hi All,
I would be grateful if somebody could help me. I am currently with Npower for both Gas and Electric and am at the end of my tether with them. Whilst my Electric has remained consistent at £15 a month Direct Debit, my Gas has gone up from £15 to £26 to £46 a month.
The reason why my gas has gone up so much is that they recently sent me a Bill and in my infinite wisdom, I decided to give them an updated reading, it turns out they underestimated how much I used and the amount on the meter was higher than the estimate:
More info here:

Now my question is, given that I am on a DD for £46 a month and I change to someone cheaper like Ebico or Atlantic, will Npower bill me for however much they underestimated me over the winter months ? and with my new provider, can I specify setting a DD of £15 a month ?
Also is it worth me switching at this stage, or should I keep paying £46 a month till the bill has leveled out and then change supplier ?
Cheers

Npower may stop you leaving as you have a balance.
If you do move and set up your DD at £15, you'll probably end up in debt again (maybe not, but it's a big drop).
Best thing is to keep giving whoever your supplier is actual readings so that the DD they suggets is more likely to be accurate from now on.0
