Help with my credit report - Experian

I really need some help here and would appreciate any comments or advice. I want to move my £2,700 credit debt from my Egg credit card to an interest free offer card. However l recently got refused for a credit card !
I believe l have an excellent credit rating. Therefore l recently registered for a credit report, via creditexpert.co.uk. I found l have a credit score of 914 out of 1,000 - therefore EXCELLENT
Now there are two things that could be letting me down (1) 2 years ago l paid a credit card later by 2 months. (2) i am not on the electoral roll (registered but its not been entered yet).
I also thought l had a CCJ against me however its not noted on the Experian credit report. Does that mean l dont have one ?
Thanks in advance

I'll shift this into the Credit Card board for you where you should get more help.0

Electoral Role is crucial to getting credit, much more so than the odd late payment.
Get yourself on the Electoral Role and I think you will get a card ok.0 -
The credit score is prettry meaningless.
Lenders use their own criteria and the score you have been sold is fictional and just another income stream for Experian.
As Nick says the main issue is the electoral role, so probably worth holding off applying until that issue is sorted.0 -
Also, credit card companies are under no obligation to give anyone a credit card. So you can have the best credit history in the world and still get turned down if the CC company doesn't want you as a customer.0

I had a similar problem a couple of years ago. Experian was the credit checking agency. I was able to appeal the decision with a copy of that record. They would not tell me why I did not succeed the first time, but when I mentioned the electoral roll they agreed that may have been a factor.
It is fairly easy to register.
Good luck!
PS Don't make the mistake I did and apply again until you have that fixed up. It then took 12 months for my credit rating to improve.0
