I keep getting the following message when I am logging into my e-mail account."It seems that your browser does not accept cookies. Please go to Orange help for help on activating them". Well I have been on Orange help and it was not much help!!. Have tried to find solution on other help lines and they said to go on Internet options from Tools and then change settings on security and press ok. Have tried this but no success. Got a similar message on another website earlier but most seem ok. Is it something that I actually need to do?Any suggestions please.

If you are using Internet Explorer...
Internet Options -> Settings (in browsing history) -> check its set to automatic and press OK.
Click delete (in the browsing history) -> now click delete all to clear the folder.
Press OK and open Internet Explorer.
Make sure you don't have IE open when you are doing this.
Let me know if this doesn't solve it.0 -
Hi nimicitor. Thanks for reply. Am a little confused. How can I change these things without IE being open as I need to get to internet options which means having IE open first, or is there something I am missing? Have checked first bit about internet options and that it is set on Automatic in settings in Browsing history and it is but then that's where I got confused. If practice makes perfect, and nobody is perfect....................................

It is not necessary for IE to be open to change it's settings. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -

In XP Start/Control Panel/Internet OptionsMove along, nothing to see.0 -
Also worth checking
Internet Options > Privacy > Advanced.
Tick override automatic cookie handling then set First-party Cookies to Accept and Third-party Cookies to Block, don't forget to -OK - and then -Apply -.0 -

Hi. Just checked all the things you have suggested, settings were actually as you stated but the 2 websites in question are still giving the same message. Would restarting the computer make any difference? If practice makes perfect, and nobody is perfect....................................

(though I wouldn't suggest disabling your virus checker)Stompa0 -
Just found someone on there stompa who has exactly the same problem but as you say don't fancy disabling my virus checker, as I can still access my e-mail account even with the message. The only difference is I am not on Norton. The other website that I got the message is ITV Local.com, so nothing I can't manage without. If practice makes perfect, and nobody is perfect....................................
