I have a dulux decorator center nearby but also heared that Focus are having a 3 for 2 on Dulux paint. Which would work out the cheapest???? I have looked on the decorator center website but they are no prices.

To buy at a reasonable price at a Trade outlet you would probably need to open an acount. I was a decorator before I retired and I would buy always from the trade centre ( Crown mind you, they are cheaper than Dulux) Bear in mind that the urban myth that says that DIY paint is especially made not to go as far is probably trueProud to be dealing with my debts.
2011 WILL be a good year!0 -
DDC always charge VAT on thier sales, so thier paint does work out dearer, you can normally get a 10% discount if you pay with cash, plus they give Nectar points.0

My decorator only ever uses Dulux and says other paints are far thinner and inferior quality. Also, I think the paint you get from the Trade Centre is much thicker than what you would buy in the DIY stores so therefore you would probably use less and get better coverage.
We converted our garage last year and got the decorator in to paint the sash window. We were in the process of painting the walls white and he gave us some dulux trade diamond matt paint he had in his van and it was SO much thicker than the stuff we had from the DIY store. It covered in one coat like a dream.
DIY store might be cheaper but you may end up buying more paint!

dulux trade is thicker than the paint you get from diy stores , it will either cover in less paint or can be thinned a bit without loss of covering ability0

Sometimes I do find it slightly cheaper to buy off the shelf, admittidly trade paint is better, but sometimes the client wants a particular colour, and must be in a Dulux tin lol
It can add up quite a bit when you go to the DCC, as I get my lining paper, tetrion, sandpaper, and of course my gliddens from them quite a lot.
When you get the total, its quite a shock as the whack on the VAT.:eek:0
