Hi
I posted here last week about the problems my elderley parents are having regarding their holiday insurance claim, basically they made a few simple mistakes filling out the form and now the insurance company will not pay out for the treatment my Father received abroad, anyway it is now looking like they will have to take out a loan to pay this amount off.
I would like to know if anybody here in the know would agree with me, that as soon as your insurance company is alerted to you plight while abroad and once they have received your medical records which in this case was about 3/4 days that a decision should be made as to whether the claim will go ahead or not. In my fathers case it took the insurance company a further 8 days to tell us of their decision, which ment my father was in a private hospital for 8 days longer than he needed to be, if the insurance company would of told us that there was a problem with the claim we could of moved my father to the NHS hospital and not racked up a 10k bill.

You may not like what I'm about to write - from memory your father ''FORGOT'' to say that he had suffered a ''STROKE'' and this is the ''simple'' mistake that he made whilst taking out the travel insurance.
I'm sure you can work out the rest of the reply!!
I really think you are clutching at straws here - how many NHS hospitals do you know abroad and would you really transfer a sick relative without medical authorisation??0
