my first time that i have claim for insurance and it is turned down
while coming back from prague to newcastle a couple of weeks ago on a friday night some items were stolen from my baggage surly stolen by airport workers.
i relised the items were stolen once i got home and unpacked
so on the saturday i rang easyjet to report this they said i would have to email them so i did
i reported this to the police too
anyway i filled in my travel insurance claim ,, sent them the reciepts from my stolen items
also i got a letter back from easyjet saying that they do not issue propery irregularity reports unless reported at the airport at the time but they said in the letter this should provide evidence that it has been reported
got a letter back from my insurance today saying
we very uch advise you that your claim cannot proceed as your insurance policy excludes claims as follows...
9 Theft, loss or damage to valuables not carried in your hand baggage while you are travelling
15 Theft, loss or damage to baggage or personal belongings during a journey unless you report this to the carrier and get a property irregularity report at the time of the loss.
17 Valuables whilst they are out of your immediate control and supervision unless locked in a safe or security box.
is there anythink i can do?

IF you feel you have reasonable grounds to "appeal" then follow the appeals/complaints procedure in the policy document ... to the letter ie: deal with the 'insurer' first before taking it further, .
Much depends on what was lost or stolen. In the part of their response you quote they refer to "valuables" ; if you left for example a valuable watch or camera in a checked in suitcase then it is unlikely that any appeal would succeed.
You should NOT have any problem with the other item they refer to in no 17 as you did not discover the loss until you were home and then did notify the appropriate authorities so any appeal on those grounds would likey succeed so in my view your appeal very much depends on what you lost and if indeed they were "valuables" that could or should have been carried in hand baggage......also study the full terms and conditions of your policy particularly the T+C relating to taking reasonable care and looking after your baggage ... on teh basis of what you have said so far depends on whetehr what you lost (or at least main items) couldbe classified as "valuables" ....You should also check the policy T+C and see IF there is a definition there of "valuables". That could be important to your appeal....
