sky technical help!

I have my phone line through bt and my telephone through sky.

I thought that all calls went though sky including 1471 and pressing 3. Never thought anything different and never read anything different.

Got my bill from bt the other day and it was nearly 14 pounds! It should be 11 pounds. I rang them up to complain as there shouldnt be any other charges on there at all (or so i thought).

I rang them and got though to someone and they said it sounded like there was a problem with the sky phone he said i had to ring sky.

So i rang sky and got though to the technical line. Spoke to a lovely man. When he had listened to what i said the bt man said he said he'd never heard anything like that happen before and he'll ring bt to find out whats going on. I was on hold for a few mins when he came back and said he'd got hold of a bt man and would i give permission for my sky man to talk to the bt man. I said yes. So we had a 3 way conversation about my problems. The bt man then said he had to put us both on hold to find out what the problems was.

After a few mins the bt man came back and said it was because id been using 1471 and then pressing 3. I assumed that was going through my sky not bt. so that was sorted and he put the phone down.

2 mins later the phone rang and it was the sky man. He was pleased that it was sorted but really upset that at first they just tried to fob me off. If it wasnt for him pestering them i still wouldnt have known and would carry on usinging it!!

He then went on to talk about my broardband that i've got with them that i havent even taken out the box yet and was going to send back. He said "would you think about using it if it was just 5 pound a month?" erm yes! ah well thats sorted for you! for a full 12 months!

and 2 days later i got a phone call from bt saying they are taking the charges of my bill!!!!
