Two cars to trade in - any advice?
Hi
I have a Toyota Avensis Tx3 D4D, 03 plate, FSH, 60,000, my wife has a Honda Civic, R plate, Petrol Automatic, 1.6iES, 60,000 mls, FSH for last couple of years. Both MOt'd and running well.
We would like to trade in both cars, the avensis is a bit big for our needs now and servicing is quite expensive, and the honda is getting a bit old.
I was thinking of going for a Focus diesel (as I do about 18,000mls per year), maybe a couple of years old or newer and look at a wee 1litre or less for my wife, as she only does the run into town.
I am looking to do this as cheaply as possible?
Would anyone care to offer any advice - could I trade both in and come out with what I want without spending a fortune?
Any advice would be much appreciated.
Cheers
Scott

If you are looking at 'cheapest' way possible, then ideally you will want to sell both cars privately but this leads to practical issues (when to sell, being without cars for a while). With your replacement cars, if buying from dealers/traders, finding two cars from the same place will give you the best stance on bargaining.
I think you best bet might be sell one car privately and trade the other one in for 2 cars from the same place. That way, you get a good deal buying and you wont be carless when selling either. If you found my comment helpful, please click the 'Thanks' button below :T0 -

I think the OP wants to trade in 2 for 1 which is possible, but will give the "crapest" value possible.
Sell them both privately then kick !!! at the dealer for your new car.:T
Be aware that alot of discount/supermarket type suppliers will market at a fixed price, give a fixed/very low PX and you will not move them.:money:I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0
