Fed up with having offers rejected

OK heard back today, they accepted our offer of £380K on property 2. We are over the moon to say the least, trying to temper it a little as there is a long way to go until completion. But right now......we are thrilled.

Property 3 are considering our offer now after rejecting it. They have another viewing tomorrow which they want to wait for before making their final decision.

What a difference a day makes!!!!

    Congratulations!
they want asking price or nothing

This sort of comment by agents is very unhelpful, particularly to FTBs, and almost lost them the sale in this case. We went through almost exactly the same thing, as I mentioned earlier on the thread, and I doubt that I will be bothered to go back to the agent after completion to tell them how offputting their initial rejection was, but at the time, I really wanted to!

Well it took 9 weeks. 9 weeks from us accepting an offer from our buyers to moving in to our dream home. We had a fairly long chain - 5 links and though I was stressed for the whole 9 weeks, it all went through very smoothly and quickly, I still can't believe it! So now we're here, we moved in 4 days ago and have unpacked and put our pictures up, it's now really starting to feel like home. To all those waiting in that awful selling/buying limbo, I really feel for you, I hope to not go back there for many years to come. We have increased our mortgage as this house is a fair bit more than the one we sold, and fixed the payments for 5 years. So time to enjoy it now.

Well dont Maccas, but I want you to be good to your principles when you come to sell one day; Dont forget to give a vig discount just as you expected all the sellers to.

    Hi Conrad
I know what you mean, but we dropped our price by £20k and got £20k off the price of this house so I feel it was even really.

with halifax and nationwide reporting 1-2% drops a MONTH why any one would buy is beyond me.

an average 400k house droped in value by over 1% last month, or... more than £4k lost in a month! thats more than £100 a day!!

I guess it goes back to the old saying a house is only worth what you're willing to pay for it, we did just that and have no regrets, we bought this house as a long term family move not to make a quick profit.
