Good points Commonsensesearcher.
It's also worth remembering that lower house prices = less money for people to borrow on a second mortgage (mortgage equity withdrawal) = less money to spend on cars, TVs, holidays etc = consumer economy slows = redundancies = fewer first time buyers and more forced house sales = more supply = lower prices.
Add to that the increasing prices of food, fuel etc, and the likelihood of increased taxes to pay for all the increased government spending = even less money to spend on houses.
House prices are driven by an engine that can go almost as fast in reverse gear as it can do in forward gear.'Never keep up with Joneses. Drag them down to your level. It's cheaper.' Quentin Crisp0 -
Hi,
Recently I have bought a house and quite satisfied with this. My friend told me to take help from Real Cheap Real Estate . From their help I really got a good place and don’t have any complains. They specialize in selling discount homes and they also sell real estate notes. Hope it will help you too.
Good Luck!
Something tells me the OP is looking for a property in the UK.0 -
Is there a way I can become a homeowner and not pay an outrageous mortgage?
Make extremely low offers on a large number of places hoping someone is desperate enough to sell?
Make extremely lows bids at auction hoping there is no reserve?
Unfortunately, the shared ownership schemes are a con and most of the properties are terrible new-build "luxury appartments". Think hard before you go down that road.[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Rise like Lions after slumber
