calculating tax and national insurance to aid budgeting

a friend of mine who works in a very stressful job is thinking of asking his employers to work at a lower grade but wants to know effect on disposable income before doing so.
where can i find a calculator which will show how much pay he will receive after tax and national insurance. can you provide link?
