I am currently with with Eon and pay £51 a month (£600 odd a year)
and use 4652kwh per year on electricty.

Looking at switching through comparison sites, BG Online Clixk 5 tariff comes up cheapest for me.

However so many things I have read on this forum, on review sites etc everyone says that BG are just hassle, make mistakes, slow with paper work etc and horrendous customer service.

are they that bad?? i want to switch but not if it is not a good decision in the long run?

anyone had good experiences?

thanks

There is little doubt that BG have a very poor reputation for their service.

Much of their recent problems have been caused by the introduction of a new computer accounting system and the transfer of the old data to this system has been little short of a disaster.

This was compounded by a new website that always semed to be inaccessible.

I had lots of problems with mixed up accounts, but it seems now to be sorted, and I would think new accounts should be OK.

Some people have almost a pathological hatred of BG because of these problems and the fact that BG's standard tariff was poor value. The fact that they made a huge profit last year has poured salt into the wounds!

BG are still by far and away the biggest supplier and of course you only tend to hear about the problems; there will be millions of people who have no issues.

BG Click 5 is a fairly competitive tariff and if it suits I would go for it; although I am well aware that this would not be the view of many on this forum.

    Stand by for invective!!!

    thanks for replying,
it kind of seems its a risk you take and either it will work out well for you with no problems or you will be unlikely and have lots of hassle!
suppose it is weighing up the saving you will make which for me is quite a good one so am inclined to take that risk... i think!!
