Interesting Fraud protection trigger

I have a Halifax Visa card and got a call from their automated system this morning to get me to confirm some recent transactions.
I have had this call occasionally in the past. Their fraud protection scheme is sometimes triggered to make further enquiries, it seems to work quite well.
In this case the system picked up that the last 3 transactions I had carried out were all "online" or Cardholder Not Present ones. This triggered the system to phone me to check to see if they were authorised.
Just in case anyone else ever has any problems using their CC online, this may be a reason who it gets refused.
I use this card exclusively for online purchases (so that I only have to watch for internet fraud on one card) so maybe this is why I get the occasional phone call.
Good to see at least they have a system that seems to be watching and working!

If I am going on holiday (particularly a cruise which goes to lots of countries) then I call them in advance and ask them to note on my file that I will be in lots of countries between the following dates.
Hopefully this stops the card getting stopped when you are not easily contactible.0
