PC World price match - can you do this in-store?

Hi all
Do you HAVE to call PC World to get them to price match or can you walk into a store with a printout of, say, a page from John Lewis' website and get a price match that way?
I want to go through Quidco (as opposed to calling PC World to price match and place my order) to save a little bit more money.
TIA
Suze

Think it has to be done face to face, similar to Currys pricematch. Nothing on the PC world homepage about price matching online.
A wee tip however if buying from PC world or currys in store too is to check the price online and reserve to collect, sometimes it substantially cheaper to do this and Currys pay Quidco for reserve and collect too;)I am trying, honest;) very trying according to my dear OH:rotfl:0 -
get the price of the machine you have seen cheaper, walk into PC world, say you want a PC of the same or better specs, for a better price, and they will normally do that, but you have to do some serious haggling afterwards to get a better deal!

It can be done face to face but be warned they WILL look it up on the web so if you use discount codes and the like in your printout and they look it up and its different they wont honour it. You may get away with a different coloured item but they will check the product is EXACTLY the same. They also only pricematch certain stores.0

i know pc world price match with internet sites.. well they do with amazon (not marketplace). as long as when they check it on the site, it should be instock, and the price will always include delivery charge that the particuler site charges.
i went into curry just before that, and they only price match with internet sites that have stores. eg, woolworths, dixons, comet, argos etc0 -

Does Currys match a Dixons internet price or is it only store prices they match.
I am about to buy a PVR from Dixons on line as it is much cheaper than in Comet, Curry's, JLP etc, I would prefer to buy it in a store but not if I have to pay almost £20 extra,Some Burke bloke quote: all it takes for evil to triumph is for good men to say nothing. :silenced:0 -
hey
... i often use "pc world price match" ... just go into the store and tell the SA you would like them to price match (Amazon..Woolworths etc)... they check the price using their instore computer. The price must include delivery and be "in-stock".. although i have "priced matched" several ps3 games against play.com that have been "out of stock" .. so the latter rule might depend upon the manager.

i am surprised you managed to price match with play...they wouldnt let me do that down here!

PC World do not stock the Humax PVR I want to buy.
Currys do not match Internet prices and I pointed out that Dixons had stores at the Airport (I don't know any other locations) and was told they do not match Dixons prices despite being part of the same group. Some Burke bloke quote: all it takes for evil to triumph is for good men to say nothing. :silenced:0 -
PC world price matched me the PS2 Jungle monster rumble with buzzers, advertised in store as £20 off at £94.99 but is £79.99 at play.com.
Had to ask for a sales assistance to check it was in stock first, they had 3, then they checked on the internet it was the price at Play.com and took £15 off. They worked out 110% of the difference works out at 100% is £15 then 10% is £1.50. so in total was charged £78.49. Took a while to get it sorted but cant complain.
Quidco dont give anything for games consoles and while there is a 5% voucher somewhere I thought it a good deal as I did not have to wait for it to be delivered and got somewhere to take it back to if there was a problem. Ok there may be cheaper PS2's out there but as the current PS3 dont support PS2 games I think its going to be around for a while, and PS2 games are ok.
So a happy PC world shopper:j0
