natwest card reader

i stumbled upon some info on the natwest card reader for online banking access, i use online banking a few times a week, i have not received a card reader, should i be worried.??

will my online stop working?

    Yes - that they will get round to you earlier rather than later with this overated piece of junk. ;)

    As an aside, my Natwest card appears to work with my Barclays PINsentry. I'd guess the hardware/protocol is the same.

    Natwest are only issuing them to customers that make online payments where they enter the sort code and account number manually.

    If you only make online payments to the water board, your council and the like and use the predefined settings in the standing order section you'll get away with it.....for now. :)

    Yes, they will all conform to the same APACS "standard". So you will be able to use your next door neighbour's, your mum's, the ones lying about in the office at work, or even the fancy-looking one that the guy down at the pub wants to sell you (neglecting to mention the extra wiring inside).

    People will do the "easy" or "cool" things with technology like they always have done, and the fraudsters will take advantage of it.

    Keep passwords in your head. No-one has access to that - yet.
