What does 'Discovered a problem with your application' mean.?

I hope someone can shed some light on this.
I've just applied for a Citibank Platinum LOB card online and their online decision was"We've discovered a problem with your application" and was given a reference to call them with to discuss it..

What does this actually mean?If it usually means I'll be declined I wont bother calling.

Could be anything, you may not have accepted there PPI and they want to try to sell it over the phone.

You may have hit a wrong key on your date of birth or something.

Worth a call, you can always say no.
