My new Freeview box won't switch on anymore!

I bought a new Sagem ID68 freeview box last weekend. It was working OK until last night when it suddenly switched itself off and the TV screen went into the non-aerial mode with a fuzzy non-digital channel visible.

I've tried to switch the box on again using the remote control but it won't switch on.No light comes on. There are no buttons on the box itself.

One thing I did notice during its usage over the last few days is that the plug for the box would get very very hot. I don't know if this is normal of if it could have caused the box to overheat.

The box is:

Any help appreciated!

Thanks!

Sounds like it's faulty - take it back to Argos and get it changed.

Sometimes these boxes lock up and you need to unplug them and plug them back in to reset them.Try that first.
However it sounds as if the unit has been drawing too much power from the mains adaptor ( looks like an oversized plug, they do run warm as a rule not hot ).
Take it back to Argos and get a replacement.

    Hope this helps

Could be as simple as a blown fuse or as complcated as a overheated circuit board but like the others have said you are not an electrician so don't waste any more time trying anything more advanced than unplugging and plugging it back in. Use your rights and get it exchanged.
