A&L transfer money question

Options
I want to transfer money from my A&L Premier Plus account back to my current Natwest account however when I go to the transfer section I cannot create a new payee, it only shows my A&L savings account...

According to the help I should be able to select the 'to' field & select create new payee but this does not seem to be the case... where am I going wrong?

Many thanks!

  • Never mind, I log in using the egg money manager which zooms past the login screen.....

On the login screen it states that create new payee is offline at the mo due to essential maintenance.... I only want to transfer the £500 out and back in to make up my £1000... they are still sorting out my salary etc..

What happens if I don't pay in the £1000? Do they tell me off? Not pay the interest for that month?

  • as far as i know they cancel your interest free overdraft facility
  • Well I have no overdraft facility... I never set one up!

All of the above  I think, plus:

Under-funding fee (failure to pay the minimum monthly credit) £5 per month

P.S. I think you can withdraw cash from ATM and pay it back over a counter.
  • Didn't think of getting the cash out! Thanks for that! Don't think I have an A&L near me but I can pay it back into my Natwest account and transfer it over again, pain in the !!!!!! way of doing it but apparently the create new payee function will be down for a couple of weeks!!

What? Is this listed in the small print someplace?

I can only see this in the t&c:

Customers must fund their Premier Plus Current Account with the minimum monthly funding in order to retain travel cover.

    Terms & Conditions :

32.5 If You fail to pay the required minimum monthly credit into Your Account the monthly charge set out in the Interest Rates and Charges Guide will be applied. We will take the money from Your Account to pay any charges due to Us and give You at least 14 days notice of the amount before doing so.

    Interest Rates & Charges:
Under-funding fee (failure to pay the minimum monthly credit)
    £5 per month
I souldn't say this is very small print.

The under-funding fee is pretty much to pay for the free travel cover if you don't earn it by paying in the necessary amount per month. You won't be charged the under-funding fee, or have your insurance cover suspended, without warning.

And if you got that warning, you could always downgrade to a non Premier account and continue to bank for free (but, obviously, without the insurance and good interest rate of Premier or Premier Plus).
