Hi,
Can anyone tell me the times of the sailings from Swansea to Cork please and whether you are able to sleep on board? We're hoping they depart fairly late so we can make it down there after work one night. I can't find a website with their timetable published yet?

As far as I am aware, at present, Swansea Cork Ferries haven't been able to charter a suitable ship. The man without a signature.0

I would find an alternative route, we went a few years ago and the service was dire, we had a cabin but it smelt was cold and absolutely tiny, the food was not very good either.
We did not enjoy that crossing and vowed never to do it again.

oh thats a shame
It doesn't say anything on their website about them not running!
OH wanted to see the Titanic exhibition before heading to Co Kerry and it would have added an extra day to our holiday.
Holyhead to Dublin it is then  0 -

Why not Pembroke to Rosslare with Irish Ferries or Fishguard to Rosslare with Stena.
The overnight Swansea ferry was an awful of tramp of a ship.0 -

Because its a 4 hour journey where as I can get the swift to Dublin in 1.5 hours (both ports are the same distance from home give or take 5 miles). Either way we have to go to Kerry via Cork at some stage (OH wants to see the Titanic exhibition), so maybe to Rosslare to Pembroke on the way home
Thanks though.

It seems to me that you're probably going to have to make one long drive on either side of the Irish sea - personally I think you're better doing it in the UK.
There is also a fast catamaran from Fishguard to Rosslare with Stena which cuts down the journey time depending on what time of year you're going.0 -
For up-to-date news about the new service linking Cork and Swansea - and the campaign that's been running to restore it - seems I can't post a link - but the website has the name bringbacktheswanseacorkferry - hope that's OK with the moderators ?

The Swansea to Cork service is due to re-open later this year they have managed to purchase a 28 year old ship from Finland. Currently the ship needs to undergo some modifications in order to comply with Irish Maritime Law.
The ship is designed for overnight crossings, so yes you will be able to sleep onboard. Their website is currently under construction, but the company is called FastNet line.0
