  • I adore Tuna and have an equal love for curry, but the two together:confused: umm will be interesting to hear what people say who've tried it.
A couple of recipes i found HERE and HERE

    Good luck with that:j

I'm biased, because I can't stand tuna, but I think it would be completely disgusting. Sorry! If I was hankering after curry and didn't have meat, I'd make one with vegetables and/or beans (chickpeas or lentils) or, my personal favourite, boiled eggs. Just make your sauce, and then when it's ready, pour it over the shelled eggs.

Fish in curry? Hmmmmm, somehow the thought does not appeal to me. But then again, I once baked cod with nectarines and it turned out to be heavenly, so... Perhaps being a bit adventurous pays off - but if it doesn't one has to eat the results or it wouldn't be very money saving... :o

One of our family favourites (although I don't know any other familys that eat it) is Tuna Fish Masala. Dirt cheap and all store cupboard ingredients...

Fry an onion with some garlic and ginger, add a tin of tomatoes, a tin of tuna and a tin of mixed veg (or could use frozen). Add garam masala and simmer for 15 mins until thick. Serve with rice and yogurt.

South Indian food is often fish based and spicy. Often the fish is mixed with spice and fried and served over the curry part. I don't mean deep fried, just stir fried with spices.
Tuna with the masala paste, microwaved separately or even cold, is delicious. Can be used as an alternative to Tuna-mayo in sandwiches, when you are in a hot mood.
As it is served separately you can choose how much you add to your vegetable curry.
The stir fry with prawns and spices is also excellent.
This also satisfies the veggie curry eater who eats the veggie curry, whilst the meat/fish eaters add the stir fried goodies on top.

It's not exactly curry, but if you've got any Thai red or green curry paste that's really good if you mix it into fishcakes. I often make those, it's just mash, tuna, an egg, some chopped spring onion and fresh coriander if you've got it, all mixed together and formed into cakes. Then egg and flour, and I egg them again and cover them in a layer of toasted matzo meal (cause I usually have that in, it's not essential). Then I bake them till they're crispy.

Hmmm - that sounds nice Gingernutmeg! Will consider that for my next meal plan. What do you recommend to go with the fish cakes?

Another possibility is use the tuna in a kedgeree - that's also curry-ish.
