TBH, I'd be happy to rent for a year or thereabouts.

Once the cash is in the bank I'm sure the right business will come along, probably just after I sign a 6 months' AST. Then I'll be asking for ways to get out of the agreement and people will tell me that I signed an agreement and shouldn't go out without an adult :rotfl:

It is not often that I look forward to Mondays.

Because your stated position is that houses will fall 30% but yet you offer 345 on a 350 house and then consider offering full ask.

    That doesnt add up pal.

    Fair point.

The property is huuuge and I kindof fell in love with it. I convinced myself that it was worth x pounds more than my place. The £350K didn't matter, just the difference between my home and theirs' which was easily affordable.

Renting is not much fun if you have got used to living in your own place for a long time...in fact , it's rubbish.

My hubby , on the occasional day off, no longer has a list of useful, home improving, DIY based chores to do (the list being provided by me) to keep him trim and active....once you rent, you can lounge about on the sofa watching c5ap DVD's as one notifies the landlord of any maintenance issues.

Yeah ;) but it's only my old 'telly time' ....now we have no aerial....another job that would have him up a ladder on a day off! Plus it's all research :p

similar problem, we are currently renting, see a house that we liked, on the market in september for 475k and now 450k, we put in a offer a couple weeks back of 375k but it was rejected and the sellers said they wanted the full 450k, i would like to offer 410k shortly but i reckon that will be turned down aswell.
Listen to what people say, but watch what people what people do!!
  • i think they could regret turning down the offer in today's climate. it's likely to stay on the market for a long while. It must be nicer renting and having a large bank balance while you're waiting for the perfect house. enjoy it and with some luck, you may find that perfect house but at a much lower price :)

Don't cut off your nose to spite your face. Play the game and get it for less than your original offer in a month or 2. Selling up and banking your profits would also seem like a good move imo in the current climate.

I was talking to someone the other day who is selling a house, they still think its worth what its priced at and can't afford to drop the price much more as they need the money for another house they have bought. House on the market for ages, not selling, dropped price, can't drop it any more, won't take lower offers......... stagnation.

Having said that, three houses in my small village for sale, all sold in the last month after being on the market for ages.
