Supermarket fuel is not cheap and diluted it needs to be at the right octane level for them to sell it anyway.
Any BP and Esso supply petrol to some of the supermarket petrol stations.0 -
MSE_Martin wrote: »Actually I said save £120 a year on a £1,200 a year fuel bill. By looking at the cost of petrol they were buying compared to the cheapest petrol station in their area (see petrolprices.com) and driving changes this is easily possible see http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/travel/cheaper-fuel
The £2,400 was all my cursory combined pain-free savings

I understood the first time when I watched the show.

Must do when the truck delivering at my local supermarket is not branded up with the supermarkets name on it but the fuel companies name, and I've seen another supermarkets branded tankers with BP on the drivers door.0 -

Their refineries do or are you trying to tell me Tesco, Asda and Morrisons have their own refineries because I've never come across them. I have, however, come across Tesco, Asda and Morrisons tankers filling up at Shell and Conoco (Jet) refineries.0 -

Agree with this post. Basically the fuel come out of the same refinery. I live close(ish) to Stanlow refinery and you get all types of tankers coming in and out all day eventhough the refinery is run by Shell0 -

It depends where in the country you are. In the south-east, Tesco, Asda and Morrisons are supplied from smaller independent fuel distributors such as Greenergy and Harvest Energy (remember the silicon issue last year).
Tesco, Asda and Morrisons outside the south-east and other supermarkets are supplied by the big oil companies (you can tell from the phone number on the emergency plates on the tankers).
As for who owns refineries, even BP no longer have any refineries in the UK.0
