Train or car hire?! HELP!

Hey everyone!

I'm trying to get from Bradford to Milton Keynes Central either late Friday 14th, or by mid afternoon Sat 15th..

Tried trains, seems to be well over £90 for return. Tried all the single way trips to try and get it down, but no luck

Looked at car rental, but i'm 24yrs old, and can't find one for under 25's?

Anybody help? I'd really like to go see my friends for the weekend, but it's gonna be expensive!

  • Hi

Did you try 1car1.com ? They might rent small cars to under 24.

By the way, your journey seems to be 300 miles round trip, which means you will almost spend a full tank to get there and back! Plus the car rental, let alone the risk of having an accident, the tirdness of almost 3 hrs drive each way without forgetting the possiblity of nasty surprises from rental company when you return the car ( Unnoticed scratch, not exact level of petrol in the tank, the hight excess in case of the unthinkable happening)

All these factors combined with recent bankrupcy, I would recommend getting the train instead of hiring the car.
    Hope that will help you.

    Thanks Thunderbird..

I wasn't sure how much it would cost to hire a car to be honest. Plus, with a car I could go and visit family aswell, which would have been nice..

I will have a look at the site you mentioned, thanks x

How about the coach ? National Express have a standard return leaving Bradford on Friday 14th and returning from MK on Monday 17th for £33. Journey takes about 3.5 hours. Have a play about with the times to see if the price changes.
