He does like catnip - but the toys I've bought recently have been a bit rubbish - might see if i can find some fresh stuff.

You might try buying seeds... will have a look to find who does them... your local garden centre might just sell it but I grew mine from seed. You will need to keep it away from the cat!
I grew mine under an upturned shopping basket as she ate the first batch down to the roots...!

My better half found some catnip toys on ebay for our 2, we got them for them for christams (spoiled pusscats or what) they tore apart the jiffy bag they came in, in the end we had to put the other 2 away in a sealed bag, in a sealed box!
I think they were 99p for 3, look like little bowties.
Also Pets at Home do a spray on catnip we use for refreshing the scratching post.

    Regards
    Jon

Use 'nepeta cataria' from the herb collection. Nicky's are pretty good, have used them with no probs. Of course there are loads of other places that sell catnip too!!!

He might be missing his companion. I know next door's dogs were left outside while they were at work and you never knew they were there, until one died. The other one just barked and barked and barked all day. I told my neighbour about this who was very grateful because like she said, she wouldn't know if someone hadn't told her. They now keep the dog in or take her with them or come home, just to give a bit of attention that she had been missing from her companion.

The catnip toys from Culpepper are brilliant, I have yet to see a cat not react to those as they use decent stuff. I also bought some Cosmic Cat Nip from VetUk and she goes absolutely mental, starts off eating it, then rolls in it then does somersaults then runs away and jumps on it. Hours of fun! http://vetuk.co.uk/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=817
  • Just an update for you all. Am taking my boy to the vets today to get vaccinated so that we can get him a new friend, which is what i think he needs. Will ask the vet about his random behaviour. Thanks again for all your suggestions.

Vet said 'get him a friend' because he's a wuuussss he said a boy would be better. He said my kitty was very pretty. Does that mean he's gay?

So we're looking for a kitten now, hubby wants a chocolate one - I'm not too fussed. I bought him a catnip spray and resprayed his toys - he's now in kitty heaven.....I think indoor kitties need a friend as they get bored:rolleyes:
