in Credit cards
hello readers, just a quick post to say how pleased I am with capital one, last year I applied for a classic visa and was accepted, I was unfortunate to be a victim of ID theft and it has took me a very long time too sort but now I am back on track thanks to capital one, they were the only company to give me a credit card when I was unable to get even a basic bank account or mobile phone, the good thing is that they record monthly account status with all three credit reference agencies, unfortunately I made the mistake recently of applying for too much credit in a short time scale and I am now going to wait until march 2009 before I try for a better rate card etc, I invite anyone to post there views on Capital one and would hope others have been helped out by them in the past.
Regards
Rob

I opened a Capital One Card for the 4% cashback offer. However, I have been very pleased with the services provided.
The on line account system is very good and the recent new site is excellent.
Also the service they provide to help avoid identity theft is excellent.
All in all, no complaints from me, good company to deal with.0 -
Been with Capital One since September, their service is adequate - their online site is a little slow to update though, and you get punted to India half the time if you want to call.
If you just want a basic lender with no frills, C1 are probably your best bet...0 -
Due to living overseas for more than 20 years i had no credit history at all. Capital one were the only company at that time to give me a credit card. At the three month point they gave me a credit limit increase and i'd actually only used the the card twice.0

Ive always found their customer service terrible.
Although their long term 0% deals seem to still pull me in!!!0 -
I applied for Cap1 to get 4% cash back and bagged £407 in January. I stuck with them for 1% cash back and I have found their service to be acceptable.
I found the way they lay out their statement very confusing at first.

I am please to here so much positive feed back about cap 1, when i applied to them last year my credit files were ruined, 93 linked addresses all with ccj's defaults, unpaid debts etc, i had only ever lived at 3 addresses in the last 7 year so you can see how bad it would have looked to lenders, unfortunaltly the fraudster still has not been caught and when they do catch i hope they lock the s**t bag up for a long time.

I applied for a 0% card (for stoozing) but they sent a cashback card, which I didn't want. So I didn't continue with the application. The application through the website was also terrible (such as having to put in a mobile phone number, not everyone has one). So while I'm glad you had a good experience PROLIANT, I won't be using them again no matter how good the 0% deal.0

I've been with Cap 1 for near on 5 years, all charges that they claimed from me I received back. I've tried repeatedly for over a month to sigh up to their new website and STILL NOT registered!! Why start a new site when you can't reregister, I rang the number suggest and after retyping my name etc they lady on the end of the phone stated that little problem the company was having transferring the information accross. Very pleased with cap1. their anti fraud systems are very good. They contacted me within 15 mins of an unauthorised transaction on the net. Immediately cancelled the card, new one within a few days and credited the fraudulent amount straight away.
They were the only company to help when I ran into problems a few years ago. Yes their interest rate is high on the classic card, but you can't complain if they are taking on riskier customers.
My one complaint is that in order to get a different card from them you have to cancel the current card and then apply again. seems a long winded way of going about it.0 -

I registered on their new website first time, no problem. Website is a bit congested, takes time to sort yourself out on it.0
