Yeah, staff are allowed to try the games out when they arrive in store. Generally a game comes out on a Friday and arrives in stock on the prior Tuesday. Remember, games are age restricted so must be sold by people of the appropriate age, and I imagine tested by people of the right age. At Christmas, GAME take on kids to be runners and work on the shopfloor, but it's not often useful to have an under-18 as a Saturday/Sunday worker because they need to work the tills and sell 18 rated products. A good place to look for Quality Assurance (game tester) jobs is http://www.gamesindustry.biz/ but as said before, it's mind-numbingly repetitive and not well paid, and the age restriction could be a problem. Often game testing is not playing games and giving feedback, it's putting the game in the drive and turning the console on and off for 2 hours to check it doesn't break.
