Always thought this was a good brand?
Have been disappointed by the brand after 2 days ago when my 1 1/2 year old under counter fridge suddenly stopped working. The temperature has broken altogether. I got quotes to fix it as its out of warranty, all saying it can be fixed, but not worth the hassle and cost.
My kind inlaws have bought us a new one, surprise surprise though, not another hotpoint. Have emailed hotpoint to let them know how disappointed we are, but i don't expect anything to really come of it.

There must be someone who can fix your fridge for a reasonable price?
As regards Hotpoint our washer dryer lasted 16 years, although it now needs new bearings which I will do when I've got time..."Love you Dave Brooker! x"

I don't know much about fridges and how the work etc when it comes to temperature, but my inlaws rang a friend who has a shop selling fridges etc and they said this kind of problem, is the type that once it is fixed, it could go again at any time. I didn't like that uncertainty, plus it takes time to fix and as it broke Thurs night, i had Fri to be able to ring for quotes, but most people couldn't look at it until Monday, so id be without a fridge for maybe a week.
So as my inlaws have bought us a new one, we have decided to take the £1.99 cover per mth, which covers parts and labour should anything stop working and for it to be fixed within 2 days.
I would of done that with the hotpoint fridge, if i had known about that kind of cover a year and half ago.Mummy to two girls: October 2013 and February 20160 -

Hotpoint of yesteryear was a completely different breed. I wouldn't touch a Hotpoint or Indesit Machine with a barge pole in this day and age. The same applies to Hoover and Candy. My farts hospitalize small children0 -

We got a new hotpoint which supposedly contains mainly UK components, rather than the cheaper ones which seem to be just indesits...
That said all washing machines seem to be made by a handful of companies..."Love you Dave Brooker! x"

as has been mentioned go through john lewis - you get i think 5% through quidco on their internet site.
if you want to get a price match to somewhere you will have to go through their shop though and you cant get the quidco cashback0
