    thanks for answering

i have a p reg 2.0 litre ulysse thats gained a electrical fault and need suggestions what might be causing it .

our cars developed a electrical fault and hubbys banging his head on a brick wall at present .
up till wenesday been working fine then stalled and wouldnt start. after a few turns of the key i got it started and got it home, since then its started once every 6 - 8 turns of the key .. got some advice and we put a new crank shaft sensor in, a new ignition coil and cleaned the ecu relay..
any idea what he should be trying next? hes had the spark plug out to see if its firing and theres no spark.

e also tried a diagnostigs (sp) but it wont connect up .
    thanks in advance

if your not getting a spark at the spark plugs then there must be something wrong here then, are the H.T leads ok,is the gap set correctly at each plug?
these would be the first things to check why it isnt getting a spark.

Diagnostics not working and no spark quite possibly means the ECU is dead. For your bank balance I hope it isn't. But if it is this do not make the mistake of getting a new ECU and just dropping it in as whatever killed the old one will probably kill the next one (could be alternator voltage regulator) and the newer ones usually need coding somehow by dealers anyway.

Suppose a simple thing to try is to check the ECU fuses.

If there's a distributor cap check the centre thingy inside the cap is sprung and present.

or no power any where as you have a bad earth?
try a jump lead from battery negative onto the chassis, this will give you a good earth to identify if it is a bad earth or not.
