Building a website

Hi,

Wondered if anyone could help, I've just put some artwork for sale on redbubble and would like to build a simple website to promote this. I have no idea where to start and, like most ppl, am skint

I've never built anything remotely web related before (not even a myspace page)

Should i use something like myspace or googlepages or am I better to start with my own site?

Any help and advice would be appreciate.

Many thanks.

Google Pages would be a great place to start. Ideally you will want to learn xhtml and css then host on some paid for hosting solution but learning the skills takes time.
xhtml and css can be learned without too much hassle as its not as complex as normal programming and you can find loads of free help online. Try http://www.w3schools.com/ for starters.

If you want something very straightforward you could try using 123-reg Instant Site.

I would say get started with google pages or something similar and if that dosnt do what you want then move on to something similar but paid for (i think 1and1.co.uk do that sort of web page builder service)

    Thanks guys.

I like the look of weebly and 123reg that you suggested. ms office live looks good too. Im gonna do a bit more looking into these 3 and in the meantime gonna do a really simple googlepage.

Really appreciate the help. I'll no doubt be looking for more help in the future :D

I'm hoping it'll make me a millionaire :rotfl: lol. seriously, just starting out with a hope that it may go somewhere.

    Thanks again
