Im also one of those damned lazy posties, So if you were in and the light was on etc, why wouldnt he knock the door, it would be easier for him to knock your door rather than a neighbours, doesnt make sense to me.
Did you ask him why, i know from personal experience where ive knocked on peoples doors and seen and heard them in yet still no answer.
That's what I couldn't work out!!!
I don't live here during the week - I've never met the postie.
I've just remembered though that OH was out the front last weekend and there was a parcel on our front step for next door. There was no-one in next door, but the postie had dumped the parcel on our front step
If I'm up early enough tomorrow I might try and catch him :A MSE's turbo-charged CurlyWurlyGirly:AThinks Naughty Things Too Much Clique Member No 3, 4 & 5

best one i ever had was for a special delivery.
heard voices inside the house, knocked 3 times but no answer.
so left a card and did the other 2 floors on the stair, often people wait for the card then come out
nobody there so off i go.
when i finished i went back to the office to cover the callers office.
1st guy i deal with was a guy ranting how that lazy *$@*$@@ of a postie hadnt even bothered to knock.
we had some words that day0 -

I've had RM leave a parcel in the 'wooden box' on my drive whilst I was in the house and pop a card through the door letting me know. I don't have a wooden box I have a wooden bin bag holder! He left a parcel on top of bags of rubbish and it happened to be a rubbish collection day! I noticed a brown box in the hands of the binman and ran out before he put it in the cart. I had a few words to say to RM about that.:mad:I would if I could but I can't so I won't!0

City link told me theyd left my parcel with a neighbour, but didnt say which one. Rang city link, told they couldnt help and to ask neighbours. Asked about 10 -15 (we live on a big estate) and all had no idea.

Royal Mail once tried to leave me a parcel for next door. I looked at the name and said that it wasn't them - and the postie took it away again. I was talking to my neighbour afterwards and told her about the parcel - she said her son had ordered a phone and put down her address for delivery, instead of his own. My neighbours had lived there for about a year, - I wasn't to know that she had a son from a previous marriage, who had a different surname, was I? She said he was wondering why his phone hadn't been delivered. Oops!0
