Holiday spending money?

Next year we are planning our first foreign holiday. Still in the rough planning stages so I want to make sure that we have all the details and make sure that we have a reasonable holiday budget planned.
We are a family of three - two adults and one nine year old. We are planning on a 'typical' holiday - Spain, Greece, Malta - something like that.
Sister-in-law spent a 'fortune' on a week's holiday to Gran Canaria - but I am very aware that her 'expenditure' may not be typical!!
Any advice, thoughts would be appreciated!

Welcome!
I hope your first holiday will not be the last one. In this case you definitely need Nationwide flex-account with debit or cash card - and you will never have headache with local currency. Luckily you have a whole year to apply if you don't have it. Their credit card can be usefull too.
