Under what circumstances can an MOT tester not allow you to drive the tested vehicle away? I have tried searching online but not found anything. Just seen on another forum someone has been prevented from doing so for just a broken side light switch, which to me seems wrong and must be against the law.
Interesting how everyone seems to have assumed this refers to a car at a licensed testing station for such vehicles. If this is a VOSA testing station and/or the vehicle is not a car/bike etc. different rules may well apply.0 -
They can't stop you from driving away IMHO,
If he wants to be totally legal driving his car home, all he has to do is get some black gaffer tape, and tape over the front headlamps and rear tail lights. Also if he does this they will have to issue him with an MOT pass :rotfl: within 24 hours of the fail there should be no extra fees for the pass.
so a car with no lights would still pass then would it?0 -
a car that does not have a current MOT Certificate is not allowed to be used on the road except when going for repairs for a test, or to a prearranged test.
the car may have been taken in early so could still have a corrent mot which incidentally is only valid on the day of issue.I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -
