Which, when all is said and done, is a derivative of leasing.

I know, but the previous poster was saying people turn to leasing companies to dodge deposits, etc :)

The advanced rentals can be varied, usually from between one month to six months.

About 85% of the ones i have seen have been atleast 3 months deposit with the 6 x deposit usualy on higher end cars over the 20 or 25 grand mark.

Then you need to look around a little more. You may have seen these rates advertised (the more expensive cars are advertised with a larger advanced rental, to keep the regular monthly rentals look lower), but almost without exception, the advanced rentals can be varied to whatever suits the lessor (with the parameters suggested earlier).
The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark

I have looked at loads of contract hires on the net and most are 3 x deposit like i said. Never actually been to enquire personaly though so iam guessing its changes things, but in the endup you will pay the same, no deposit just means more per month.
