I do not do alot of business with them personally but respect them as an insurer. . The feedback i tend to get is good service, but expensive and ok cover. So i'd say indifferent really
It depends massively on your own personal circumstances.
There are 40+ healthcare providers out there, hundreds of different schemes and thousands of variations of those schemes.
It depends on the balance of what you would like covered and how much you are willing to pay and also most importantly what current/recent medical conditions people have had. There are schemes for £1 per week that cover you for precious little and schemes that will cover you for your medical, childbirth, dental and optical in every country on earth that will cost you a small fortune.
If you (or anyone you are looking to add) are not currently insured and have had medical conditions in the last 5 years then Pruhealth could be a very good insurer to look at (they also give you free/very cheap gym membership).
Pruhealth's Moratorium underwritting is. From the start date of the policy: Any medical condition you (or anyone you add) has suffered from in the last 5 years will not be covered for the first two years of the policy. After the two years the condition will be covered in full (subject to the terms and conditions of the policy) (all new conditions arising after the policy start date can of course be claimed on straight away as well).
So no matter what is wrong with you currently or has been wrong with you in the past 5 years, after two years on the scheme its covered no matter what happens within that time.
With most insurers moratorium underwritting its 5 years back still but you have to go two years advice (i.e. consultation/check up) treatment (i.e.medication/pills, physio etc) and symptom (i.e. aches, pain) free for a two year period before a pre existing condition is covered.
So if you are taking even half an asprin for say high cholesterol then high blood cholesterol and any related condition (i.e. some heart problems) may never be covered because you are not going medication free for a two year period.
I am not sure if you are talking company scheme or individual schemes here either. Currently Insured or Uninsured.0 -
We get WPA cover through work, I have only used them on one occasion but was happy enough with their service. I needed to see a physio following a GP referral. I phoned up WPA told them who I wanted to see and it moved on from there very smoothly."We act as though comfort and luxury are the chief requirements of life, when all that we need to make us happy is something to be enthusiastic about” – Albert Einstein0
