International calls from mobile

Has anyone else found discrepancies between what one of the cheap call providers (in my case Telestunt to Czech Republic quoted as 15p per minute from a mobile) has quoted and what apperas on your mobile bill. At that rate I should have paid £ 1.76 for my 11:42 call but was billed £ 7.96 by CPW/O2. I checked both Telestunt website and Martins call checker and it gives the 15p rate and on dialling the access number it stipulates this rate. When I quizzed CPW they said it's an 0900 prem rate call. I said that there is an advertised rate and they came back that according to a UK telecom check the rate could be between 15p and £ 1.50.

I presume you were calling a Czech Mobile on the Telestunt Indirect access no
0911 501 97 97.This is only charged at 15p a minute from BT landlines.Calls from mobiles to premium no,s tend to be a lot dearer.You need to give your mobile provider the full no,and ask them exactly what they charge per minute to call that particular no.It will no doubt be more then 15p a minute.

In fairness to Telestunt they do say on there site that rates quoted are only from a BT Landline.(Its in small print,bottom of home page).

If you are calling Czech Landlines it would be cheaper to use an 0844 access no,which is normally included in o2 cross network minutes.

0844 861 51 51,1p from BT Landlines to Czech landlines.
0871 343 12 12, 9p a min from BT Landlines to Czech Mobiles,(You need to check what O2 charge for 0871 calls as they are not included in inclusive minutes).

Also consider using https://www.simply-fone.com 07744 97 3333 access no which is included in o2 inclusive minutes.

I really wouldn't ring 0871 or 09 numbers from a mobile without expilcit detail of the tariff, and that is virtually impossible to get (you'll spend at least 2 hours talking to CS overall if you try), and much more expensive.

Get a 1899 account and use their 0207 access number; that will charge 15p/min for most European mobiles. Or if you have O2's ITS, they charge 17p/min to call directly.

I checked on the https://www.simplyfone.com website & they say that u can call via 07744973333 or 07744974363 to CZECH landline 24/7 & CZECH MObiles MON-FRIDAY 24/5 free using yr minutes... :beer:
