A&L poor telephone service, anyone else given up.

I have tried for nearly an hour over a few days now to get sensible and accurate response to my phone queries on new A&L a/c's.
Not only is it an 0845 number, with NO geographical number available, ( ie cheaper and free calls) I have been kept waiting for nearly 10 mins on most occasions to even get an answer from CS.
Then they cannot deal with my query, and try to put me through to another department.
They have a lot to learn from First Direct.
FD answer within one ring, so far, and the FD CS op can deal with all my queries immediately.
I find the A&L website not much better, I have cut back on my original several A&L a/cs 'cos for some reason you cannot transfer money between some of them, even from the main cheque a/c
If not for a good high interest rate savings a/c and free EU travel insurance, I would have pulled the plug immediately.

twenty minutes i waited today on the telephone and eventually got through to someone who informed me my account was closed - i was ringing to pay ridiculous charges they insisted on but they had wrote them of.
Only ever spoke to scousers the whole time i banked them and found their attitude to literally stink.Money's our first priority, it doesn't make sense to me -Simple Plan - CrazyDebt at lightbulb moment 13/12/07 £13820. Debt now 20/02/09 £11316'Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts' DFW Nerd #665'0
